Böllhoff SA, industry, 2015

How can we deliver even more value to our customers with new services?

Founded in 1877, Böllhoff-Attexor is an international producer of mechanical systems. In 2015, Think2Make supported the development of new digital services around its clinching products.

Workshop with Böllhoff SA

The challenge

Clinching joins metal sheets by deformation, without rivets or added material. Mechanical engineering is a mature industry where innovation is rare.

Böllhoff-Attexor wanted to deliver more value by adding services, for example digital ones, to its physical products.

How it worked

1

Defining the project

Analysis of the request with management, then complete specifications: situation, vision, objective, expected results, success criteria.

2

Generating ideas

Employees and outside lateral thinkers: reverse brainstorming, timeline, Shape the Future, empathy map.

3

Refining ideas

The raw ideas are reworked in different forms to develop idea-concepts.

The result

More than 15 solutions co-created by some ten participants, including 19 product concepts in a few hours of workshop.

“With the input of Think2Make, we managed in few hours to create 19 concepts of solutions for our problems. Without their help, we would have only slightly dealt the innovation processes. In other words, the results would have been far less refreshing and we would have needed much more time to accomplish what we wanted. In addition to the innovation aspect, the session turned out to be very helpful as a team building day.”
